One of the most notorious trails in the United States, the AT passes through 14 states from Maine to Georgia with 515,000 feet of elevation change.

On May 27 at 5:56 am, Scott set off to become the fastest person to finish a supported thru-hike. It is recommended fore people to devote five to seven months to attempt a thru-hike and of the 2,500 people who started a thru-hike attempt, only 729 successfully finished. Scott, on the other hand, aimed to conquer the trail in only 46 days.

After averaging 50 miles a day, Scott crested the summit of Mount Katahdin in Maine on July 12th, successfully breaking the previously held record by 3hrs.
